It is good opportunity to know about their history when you travel to other countries. I recommend you to visit Palace when you travel to Seoul. (You need to be careful about the weather cause Korean palace is outdoorsy) Most of palaces close at night but Gyeongbokgung opens at night and you can enjoy the palace with night lights.
Gyeongbok Palace is located close to Gyeongbokgung station. Line number 3.
You need to pay admission charge but if you wear Hanbok (Korean traditional cloth), admission is free.
There are many Hanbok rent store near the palace but I found the best and most beautiful store. (Also reasonable pricing) This place was aired a lot in Korean TV.
Line number 3 Gyeongbokgung station exit number 5
Line number 3 Anguk station exit number 1
Business Hour : 9:30~19:00 (close time extends to 22:00 when Gyeongbokgung opens at nights)
Recommend to access this place from Anguk station cause it is closer. There is photo spot in Korean style store so you can take pictures in Hanbok.
If you want Korean style hair and makeup, they also offer styling with reasonable pricing. I got my hair done. It only took a few minute cause staffs are all professional. (Please see my picture with beautiful Korean style hair and Hanbok)
Also, they rent traditional accessories and bags and shoes. They take your personal belongings in locker.
